Lawyer Profile

Tyler has lived in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for over 30 years. He clerked at the Court of King’s Bench, Saskatoon, where Chief Justice M. Popescul was his principal. While completing his law degree, at the University of Saskatchewan, Tyler was an editor of the Saskatchewan Law Review and a participant in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Since becoming a lawyer, Tyler has appeared in all levels of court in Saskatchewan, as well as many administrative tribunals.

Tyler, along with Judge Hugh Harradence and Dr. Mansfield Mela, is currently teaching Law and Psychiatry (Law 486), an interdisciplinary course provided by the College of Law and the College of Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan.

Professional & Community Involvement

Tyler is a member of the Law Society of Saskatchewan. He has volunteered his time with the following organizations: as a board member on the Saskatoon Board of Revision and License Appeal Board, adjudicating appeals (2018); as a lecturer for the Public Legal Education Association (PLEA) (2014 – present); as President of the Dufferin Place Condominium Association (2010 to 2012); as a radio host on Saskatoon’s Community Radio, CFCR 90.5fm (1999 to 2012); and as a guest lecturer/presenter to elementary and high school students on “Hip-hop and the Literary Arts” (2006 to 2013).
